Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience
Friday, March 10, 2017, 8:00 pm
Who’s Bad‘s live performance is an unrivaled celebration of pop music’s one true King. As the longest-running Michael Jackson tribute band, and the only one to predate his untimely passing, Who’s Bad has awed even the skeptics, selling out multiple venues in the United Kingdom including London’s O2 in December of 2010, the venue where the King of Pop was slated to end his career with a 50-show “This Is It” concert series. Whether you idolized the Jackson 5, fell in love to “Human Nature,” or learned to moonwalk to “Billie Jean,” Who’s Bad is the ultimate in music-and-dance driven Michael Jackson homage.
You are invited to be transported by some of the finest live performing arts in the nation throughout 2016/2017. Opening with country music superstar Trace Adkins, the season heats up with the panache of French culinary master Jacques Pépin, takes flight with the quirky and contemporary brilliance of Twyla Tharp Dance Company, and soars through the year with the best in choral and a cappella performance, musical theater, magic, and more. Time: 8:00 PM
Sponsored By: Linda Lee Lester
Trace Adkins‘ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, cumulatively. His hit list includes “You’re Gonna Miss This,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” “Songs About Me,” “Every Light In The House,” “Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton & Trace Adkins),” and “Just Fishin’,” to name a few. The Grammy®-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry is a TV personality, actor, author, spokesman for the Wounded Warrior Program and the American Red Cross, for whom he raised over $1.5 million dollars as winner of NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. In recent years, Adkins has performed 10 USO Tours.
In his 2007 autobiography, A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck, the former oil-rigger recounted his rise to fame, brushes with death, and battles with personal demons. Trace has played a tough as nails biker in The Lincoln Lawyer (starring Matthew McConaughey), and a wise oracle of a tattoo artist in the family-friendly film Moms’ Night Out (starring Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew). He also developed and hosted GAC’s “Great American Heroes” honoring everyday heroes.
Adkins has roared back into 2016 with the release of “Jesus and Jones,” his first single with BBR Music Group’s Wheelhouse Records. The anthem about walking the line between Saturday night and Sunday morning is an instant classic from a man with an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. Catch this blazing country star onstage for the first show of the Sunset Presents 2016-2017 season!

Two notes. That’s all it takes to recognize the voice of Michael McDonald. Distinctive and soulful, it is one of the most yearningly emotive instruments of our times. To this add formidable songwriting and keyboard skills, and you have an artist who has been a singular musical presence for four decades. From ’70s-era Doobie Brothers classics such as “What A Fool Believes” and solo hits like “I Keep Forgettin'” through two highly-acclaimed Motown albums, genre-busting guest spots, and innovative concept shows, the five-time Grammy® Award winning McDonald is both timeless and ever-evolving.
