For the last year a working group convened by the County, that includes MCVRA members, has been working on a new STR ordinance. MCVRA insists that the County Supervisors enact a moratorium on prosecuting STRs until new STR regulations are approved.
Please read the letter and, if you agree, fill in your personal information. Add a personal message if you wish. Press SEND and we will deliver the email to all the Supervisors and to the Clerk of the Board in order to have it in the public record.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, may we present the latest addition to our vacation rental inventory: “ADORABLE.”
Decorated in a whimsical, country theme by Lydia Collins of Turn Key Design, this two bedroom cottage is so darn cute that everyone who sees it says the same thing: “It’s adorable!”
(In fact, this happened so many times we gave up trying to name it. It named itself.)
This property is located in that sweet spot in the “Avenues” between town and the beach, and for those of you familiar with Pacific Grove, you know this is “the place” to be.
The ocean is just a few blocks in one direction, and you can walk to the Red House Cafe for your morning java quicker than you can brew a pot at home.

Everyone knows how important honeybees are—but what about the butterflies?
An essential part of the ecosystem, these delicate, fluttering jewels also pollinate flowering plants— and every autumn a small but determined population of Western Monarchs migrates from Washington and Oregon to Pacific Grove, California: a.k.a. “Butterfly Town, U.S.A.”
You can view these natural wonders October through February at the Monarch Grove Sanctuary, free and open from sunrise to sunset.
But don’t miss the annual Butterfly Parade and Bazaar on Saturday, October 1 (with local schoolchildren dressed in wings) or the Historic Home Tour of classic Victorians on Sunday, October 2.
Looking for a Place to Land?
To commemorate this inspiring natural migration, Monterey Bay Property Management is offering discounted $999 weekly rates at select Pacific Grove rentals between Oct. 1, 2011 and Feb. 29, 2012 (subject to availability, holiday dates excluded, tax and cleaning fees additional).
For more info, contact the little butterfly on the left – reservationist Ashley Magallanes in her first Butterfly Parade, circa 1993.

We have Farmers Markets almost every day of the week in Monterey County, but two of our very favorite seasonal markets re-opened this month:
The Carmel Farmers Market at the uber-charming Barnyard Shopping Village (Highway 1 and Carmel Valley Road) is open on Tuesdays from 9 am until 1 pm, and the Del Monte Farmers Market at the Del Monte Shopping Center next to Whole Foods (Highway 1 and Munras Avenue, Monterey) is open Sunday mornings from 8 am until noon.
From orchids to artichokes, both offer an awesome array of locally grown produce and specialty items: pasture raised grass-fed meat, fresh seafood, farm fresh organic eggs, organic honey, fresh baked goods, flowers and potted plants.
Now… where to chop those yummy veggies?
Whip up something amazing in the warm sunny kitchen of this Pacific Grove jewel, with views all the way across beautiful Monterey Bay.
Then, after dinner, pop open a chilled Monterey Chardonnay and soak in the hot tub under the stars.
